A piece of the Cyclades in the heart of Singapore: a bespoke Cycladic landscape wall, a wine wall in the colours of the Greek flag and a made-to-measure bar.
On Martin Road in Singapore, Bakalaki brings Greek hospitality into a room that feels like summer in the Aegean. For the new restaurant, Dimitris Economou Interiors combined the traditional Greek grocery store, the “bakaliko”, with light, natural textures and the warmth of timber. Spanopoulos Furniture built the pieces that give the space its character. At its centre is a bespoke Cycladic landscape wall: vertical timber slats that rise and fall to trace the outline of an island’s hills and white houses above the banquettes. Beside it, the wine wall draws the Greek flag in bottles, while the bar, the counter and the bakaliko shelving complete the picture. Everything was made in our factory in Athens and travelled 9,000 km. At that distance every piece has to arrive ready, so each one was drawn, CNC-machined and pre-assembled before it left the factory.

Manufacturing approach
Geometry, material and installation resolved as one system.
For complex custom work, the visible result depends on the information behind it. Production engineering defines the component logic and critical interfaces before manufacture; controlled finishing, pre-assembly and site sequencing carry that logic through to the completed space.
